Obviously this is old news to most of you, but I just found out they made a Ninja Turtles TV movie where the Turtles from the relatively dark 2003 cartoon meet the Turtles from the goofy 1987 cartoon and (spoiler alert!) by the end they meet the Turtles from the original Mirage comic book. The 1984 comic books were for teenagers if not adults, the 1987 series was for kids, and the 2003 cartoon was for slightly older kids, so I imagine the venn-diagram-center of people who are into all three is very limited. They must have loved this.
There appear to be tons of classic references for the fans - the Turtle Blimp is right there on the cover next to some pizza. Tokkha and Rahzar, the monsters created just for the live-action movie, show up too. You may remember them as the pair that crashed the Vanilla Ice concert.
Wikipedia has a summary that should answer most of your questions, though it’s unclear if they call that helicopter the Shellicopter. I have to assume they do.
