Last night I thrilled to be on the panel at Comic Book Club, a show some of you may remember from the New York Nerd Alert we released a few weeks ago.

Comic Book Club has, as of last night, joined the Nerdist podcast network so if you’re interested in hearing me weigh in on Archie Comics, Mortal Kombat, and X-Men vs. Avengers you can listen to the show here.

This week on The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show I’m joined by Pat Cassels and Ben Rodgers to analyze the upcoming cinema of 2012 while also racing against a gong.

Films discussed include The Hobbit, Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Amazing Spider-Man, Ghost Rider 2, Django Unchained, Battleship, John Carter from Mars, the untitled Paul Thomas Anderson movie, Skyfall, Hunger Games, and Fahrenheit 9/11.

You can listen to the enhanced version of The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show (with pictures) on YouTube or iTunes, and the vanilla MP3 version at JeffRubinJeffRubinShow.com.

Advanced apologies that I forgot about Prometheus.

I had so much fun doing this. When I showed up Chris and the producer JD kept reassuring me that the audience wasn’t allowed to touch the guests, even though I never asked.

TCGS #28 - Ruin This Show

Chris has to deal with the consequences after going on national television and announcing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon that he wanted everyone to come to the next taping of TCGS and attempt to ruin the show. No touching the panel. No touching equipment. Everything else was fair game. What resulted was a cacophony of chaos as performers and audience members alike came out in droves to ruin the Chris Gethard Show. Chris’ only ally for the night was CollegeHumor’s Jeff Rubin who made his first appearance on the show and waded through the insanity with Chris. Aside from Jeff the only other rest from the chaos were the amazing and hilarious dance routines of the bad-ass Cocoon Central Dance Team. In the end, Chris asked the audience to ruin the show, and the audience delivered. Consider this show ruined.

If nine more people had voted for Santorum, he would have won the Iowa caucuses. Here’s a look at those nine people.

Big big big Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show this week featuring J. Elvis Weinstein, who was the original voice of Tom Servo on Mystery Science Theater 3000 and currently tours with some of his MST3K cowriters as Cinematic Titanic. The interview is mostly about the nuts and bolts of riffing on bad movies, but we also touch on his time as a producer on America’s Funniest Videos and, oh yeah, a writer/producer on Freaks & Geeks.
You can listen to the enhanced version of The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show (with pictures) on YouTube or iTunes, and the vanilla MP3 version at JeffRubinJeffRubinShow.com
(also don’t forget, just opened a suggestion box for future Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show guests)

Tomorrow I post Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show #25 (with J. Elvis Weinstein of Freaks & Geeks and Mystery Science Theater 3000!).
Who do you guys want to hear in the next 25 episodes? I’m running a survey on my Facebook page though, what the hell, I’ll accept answers here on Tumblr too.
In just six months I’ve done episodes with Kirk Fogg, Klaus Teuber, the writers of Degrassi, and the original Tom Servo. Help me think of some new dream guests?

No full episode of the Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show this week, but I’m not showing up empty handed. Here’s an outtake from the Chris Gethard episode about his time writing for Weird New Jersey, a magazine that covers the folklore and local legends of the Garden State.

I hated cutting this stuff from  that first Chris Gethard episode, but I really wanted to focus on Chris’ awesome public access show. Those who are familiar with Chris’ work know he has the best stories, so if you’re from New Jersey you’ll really want to hear this.

Get it on iTunes, JeffRubinJeffRubinShow.com, or YouTube (embedded above).

(ps - next week’s guest is J. Evlis Weinstein, writer/producer on Freaks & Geeks and the voice of Tom Servo on Mystery Science Theater 3000).

In honor of Hanukkah -
When I was 14-years-old, my family went on a cruise. Bowzer from Sha Na Na was the entertainment. You’re all trapped on a boat together so we kept bumping into him the entire trip and every time, because I was hilarious, I brought up the Hanukkah song. At the end of the vacation I asked for his autograph and requested this entire message. In case you can’t read it, it says -
“To Jeff, from the Carnegie Deli with Arthur Fonzarelli, Bowzer from Sha Na Na ps now get the hell away from me.”
